Multiple response set

A set combines several columns into one question where people could check more than one answer. Each option sits in its own column (checked = 1, otherwise 0). Statable counts, for each option, how many people named it. SPSS calls this a multiple response set (MRSETS, multiple dichotomy).

Example: "Which media do you use during the week?" with the options television, radio, newspaper: three columns, one set.

Caution: The checks of one person are not independent. That is why there is no ordinary chi-square test for multiple responses.
