Corrected item-total correlation and alpha if item deleted
The corrected item-total correlation shows how well a question fits the other questions of the scale. "Cronbach's alpha if item deleted" shows how reliable the scale would be without that question.
Example: Question 76: item-total correlation −.27, alpha without it .86 instead of .52. The question is worded the other way round. Reverse-coded (FG76R): item-total correlation .27, alpha .77 - without it alpha would still be higher (.86).
Caution: Values below about .30 are doubtful. A negative value usually means the question is worded the other way round and must be reverse-coded. Content also decides whether a question stays.
