The "Examples" page: practice with ready-made cases
In brief
Anyone who wants to get to know Statable or practice a method without having their own data opens "See all examples" on the start page. There are 15 cases from six subjects: education, psychology, health and sport, social science and business, nature and environment, research methods. The data are made up, except for one example with real municipality figures from Statistik Austria (marked "Real data").
How it works
- Choose "See all examples" on the start page. The buttons for subject and level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) narrow the list.
- The card shows "The story" (what it is about), "What you learn" and "The questions" with the methods that occur.
- "Open and practice" creates a new project with the data. The previous project stays in the "Recently edited" list.
- A small window, the example companion, leads through the questions. "Open question" puts the question, already filled in, on a page; "Next question" and "Back" move on, "Close guide" closes the window. It also explains what to look for in the result.
Examples of cases
- Does the reading training help? Before-after comparison, training against control, multilevel model, planning the next study.
- Transition after primary school: crosstab, group comparison, correlation and logistic regression.
- Test anxiety questionnaire: Cronbach alpha, factor analysis, regression and moderation.
- Dementia screening test: does the test separate the groups? ROC curve with cut-off and test quality in the crosstab.
- A case on meta-analysis: the study values are already entered, the forest plot appears at a click.
The cases suit seminars: everyone opens the same example and should get the same numbers.
