The "Start" page

The start page is the entry point. It offers:

• Recently edited: the projects in the browser, the newest on top with the "Continue" button (at most five shown, "Show all" reveals the rest). Each row shows date and columns × cases; the menu offers Rename, Save as file and Remove from browser.
• Example data: a made-up survey (120 people) about sleep, phone use and concentration, for trying things out. More cases for practicing are under "Examples" at the top.
• Open your own file: Excel, CSV, OpenDocument, SPSS (.sav), command files (.sps) and saved projects (.statable). The file can be dragged in or chosen.
• Create a new study: define columns and type the data in directly, e.g. from paper questionnaires.

On first start Statable loads the engine; this takes a few seconds, afterwards it starts immediately.
